Yesterday (Thursday FEB 26) members of the Oversight Board for the promise held a drop in session in the Scottish Parliament, meeting MSPs from across parties.

As well as raising awareness for how important it is for the promise to be kept, the Board shared with MSPs two new briefing papers they had developed, showing where progress is needed around housing and education.

These briefings set out the current evidence. They highlight:

  • what is happening
  • where delivery is uneven
  • where greater clarity, pace and accountability are required across government, local authorities and public bodies.

The meeting saw great discussions with MSPs, inlcuding; Nicola Sturgeon, Richard Leonard, Roz McCall, and many more.

David Anderson, chair of the Oversight Board for the promise, said: "The event was full of in-depth conversations as Board members met and chatted with MSPs.

"We raised the issues of education and housing contained in our briefing papers as well as much more.

"We asked those MSPs who may be returned to make sure their parties reconfirm their commitment to keeping the promise and those leaving to ensure their replacements receive the reports and papers provided.

"The Oversight Board look forward to continuing our parliamentary engagement as we build on our work so far."
